Whether you are developing long-term or day-to-day plans for your existing or future mines you need to know what is possible or not, what vehicles you need to have and how to prioritize the work that needs to be done. SimMine's mine planning solutions gives you the tools needed to plan your potential or existing mine and will give you more accurate results than from commonly used spreadsheet based schedulers.
Below you will find some tasks that can be used together with the demo version, http://www.simmine.com/Content/products/developement-package-demos.aspx, to learn how you can improve your mine plans for your existing and future mines. Your demo version must be downloaded w43 or later to be able to perform the task below.
(It is also important if you have an old demo version of SimMine that you locate it on your computer and delete the existing database, so when you download the new demo version you will get correct database, but if you not delete the old database you will not get the correct database, when updated to the new SimMine demo version)
This document contains a quick start on how to use the different parts in SimMine in more detail: Quickstart for SimMine
Simulation task 1
Task 1: The main goal is to do the development for an already done mine layout. This development shall be done as cheap as possible. To your help, the following things can be changed:
- Number and types of vehicles. The number of vehicles used has a big impact of the cost, and also affects the time to complete the development.
- Shift schedules for the vehicles. The shift schedule that is used for the vehicles affects the time the vehicles are working each week. It is more expensive to work during certain times of a day.
Simulation task 2
Task 2: The main goal is to do the development for an already done mine layout. This development shall be done as cheap as possible. The changes from task 1 are that here you will be able to modify the parameters controlling the development - not just the vehicle parameters.
